The City of Long Beach partnered with NHaK to restructure the design and layout of the Sample Ballot, Voter Instructional Pamphlet and Voter Outreach Postcards.
The City of Long Beach was unsatisfied with their complicated ballot design and inefficient printing process. In late 2006, the City of Long Beach sought the guidance NHaK’s CEO, Jim Nista, for consultancy after having worked successfully with NHaK on previous projects. Mr. Nista helped qualify election printing vendors and examined automated production and mailing services. After several consultations, the City requested the support of NHaK to design a new ballot in addition to building and streamlining an entirely new production process.

NHaK restructured the design and layout of the Sample Ballot and Voter Instructional Pamphlet (approximately 50 pages) to organize the information in an attractive and reader-friendly manner in five different languages. In addition, NHaK created a series of Voter Outreach postcards to promote voter turnout and inform voters about their poll locations. Administration reported their material has never looked better nor made voting easier.
